Reading to Mum.

I am reading my stories to Mum.  I was really bad at reading because I didn't know the words.  Now I am good!  Next I would like to read some poems.

Kelly Sports.

We are learning to throw and catch on Tuesday mornings at Kelly Sports, 

with Coach Cameron.

Who Am I?

We had to tell about ourselves.  I had to think about me and what I look like.  Then write down the words and they are the clues.  We put them into a book so that other people can read them.  They have to think about what person it might be.  It is mystery to solve!!  It was tricky to think of five clues.

Telling the Time.

At Maths time I was learning to tell the time on a clock or a watch or a phone or on the ipad.   On this clock here, the big hand is on the 12, and the little hand is on the 3.  This means it is 3 o'clock.  If I change the little hand and it points to 4, then it would be 4 o'clock.  At first it was tricky to learn the time, but now it's easy.

Reading Eggs.

I do Reading eggs at school and at my house on the computer.  I had to match up the words and the pictures.  If I get it wrong then I can try again.  Next I want to do more matching.

Year 1 Skipping Day.

Here I am jumping over the long rope on our skipping day.  I am very good at this!!

Writing My Letters.

I am matching the capital letters and the lower case letters.  It was tricky for me because I thought the b was the d and then I figured it out.  I like my red background.

Origami Art.

On Friday the 3rd of August, some Japanese homestay students visited us from Botany College.  We chatted to them first, took them for a tour around our school, and then they helped us to fold some Origami.  My buddy helped me to make an aeroplane and a diamond and three dogs.

My Shape Art.

We are learning about shapes like circles, triangles, ovals, rectangles and squares.  I made an alien ship and I used all of them.  It was tricky to glue them on because they sometimes go in the wrong place.  Next time I would make a sun.

Blowing Bubbles.

We are outside blowing bubbles.  I can see big bubbles and I can see little bubbles.

Space Writing.

We have been learning about the planets and the stars.  I wrote a story about the moon and Mrs Kerr imported my words onto this moon shape.  My moon looks fabulous.

Mathletics at School.

I have to look at the pattern and then I need to press the shapes to make them right.  It's tricky to get them right because sometimes I put it in the wrong order.  Then I need to try again.  The green tick makes it all right!

My Honeybee.

Reading on the Ipad.

I am learning to use the Ipad to read a QR code.  I can choose a book cover.   I scan the QR code and then the story comes up on Youtube.  It can be tricky to scan some of the books.  I enjoy it because I can listen to the story and I can watch it at the same time.  I chose this book called Mmm, Cookies!

Buddhist Temple Visit.

Maths Games in Room 1.

I have to look at the number on the astronaut and then match it with the rocket that has the same number of stars.  It's tricky to count all of the stars because sometimes it has 8 stars but when you check again there are 7 stars.  They have to be the same.

My Cat.

First we draw a picture from our memory.  Then we draw with the teacher, doing it very slowly.  We have to draw lines like zigzags, curves, circles and lines.  When our work is amazing, the teacher makes it bigger on the photocopier.  Then we can colour it in but we still have to BE VERY CAREFUL!  Here is our beautiful, super work from Term 1!

Reading in Room 1.

I am reading the big book.  I can find some words by myself.  I can't read all of the words yet.  One day I will be super reader.

Look At My Writing!

I am learning to write a recount of what I really enjoyed in the weekend.

First I drew my picture.

Then I told my story to Mrs Kerr and I wrote down the words that I already knew.

She wrote down the words I didn't know yet and I copied the words under her writing.

My work looks amazing, wonderful, beautiful and cool!
